ART Del Kathryn Barton
Looking at the art of Del Kathryn Barton, all I can say is WOW! Del Kathryn Barton is a mother of two and is Australian (woohoo)! She has won the title of two Archibald Prizes (2008 and 2013) She uses watercolour, gouache and ink to create these memorising pieces! Now, sit back, and let her art sink in.

DIY Mother's Day Gift
Here is a quick and easy mother's day present I'm sure every mother would love! I brought all of my supplies in less than 10 minutes and cost me less than the blue note!
This tutorial is pretty self-explanitory but you will need: a glass milk bottle (a tall jar would be great too!), Fake flowers (Real flowers would be better) and the optional ribbon or embroidery thread.

DIY Chalkboard Phone Case
Chalkboard Paint has been all the rave recently and I finally picked up a can from my local hardware store. Although I was a bit overwhelmed by the price for a small can, I thought of many amazing possibilities for some DIY's so, I thought, 'why not?' and picked myself up a can! (as well as some knick-knacks which will be featured in a future DIY). So, without further ado, enjoy my first DIY using chalkboard paint!
You will need the following:
Start off by shaking the can for a good 5 minutes, or more if you want to tone those arm of yours! Open the can with a flat-head screwdriver to remove the lid.
Make sure your case is dry and clean before painting the case. Note, although I didn't do this, I recommend taping underneath the case so paint doesn't drip where the camera sits. I find it best to start painting vertically on the first coat. Try your best to cover the case as much as you can.
When you have finished your first coat and let it sit for a couple of minutes, apply the second coat horizontally this time. Repeat the process twice.
Let it sit for 24 hours and you're good to go. I found these great liquid chalk markers for $2.80 from a cheap store called 'Daiso'. They're really easy to use and best of all, rub off with water!
You will need the following:
- A good quality paint brush
- A plastic phone case
- Chalkboard paint
- Painters Tape

DIY Stone & Chain earrings
Happy Monday! This is just a quick and easy DIY for you all! My chalkboard DIY hasn't arrived yet (sorry guys!) but I will nag my editor to edit it ASAP. In the meantime, enjoy my newest DIY! Be sure to keep updated because I have so many great plans up my sleeves for the holidays including: jewelery DIY's, storage, wall art and more!
You will need the following:
- 2 eye pins
- 4 jump rings
- 2 earring hooks
- approximately 50 cm of gold chain
- 2 stone like beads
- A pair of round nose pliers
- A pair of wire cutters
- A pair of flat nose pliers
Start off by inserting an eye pin the the bead. Trim the eye pin so that it leaves just over 1 cm. Loop the wire using round nose pliers. It should look like this.
Next, cut 6 strands or more of different lengths of chain.
Pick up and open a jump ring with your pliers. Hold the jump ring using the flat nose pliers and add the strands of chain. My jump ring could only hold three but add as many strands as you want.
Next, add the chain to one end of the stone bead. Repeat these steps for the other earring.
Then add a jump ring to each earring hook.
Join the hook with the other end of the stone bead.

Where was I?
I sincerely apologize for my long absence during this past month!
So, the question is, where was I? Well, I wasn't sick or anything (quite the opposite actually), but for starters, my 'editor' has been absent for a while and by 'editor' I mean one of my close friends who edits my posts because my grammar is pretty damn bad. Hopefully he will edit my post tonight (which means a new DIY soon :D). Another unfortunate event: The family camera is... gone? Well, actually, I do know where it is, in Rome of course! Yes, my sister took the camera with her to Rome, Italy since she's currently studying art over there for school. Luckily I quickly did a DIY before she took it which is great and will hopefully be posted this week (fingers crossed). Nevertheless, I will try my hardest to post more frequently because Term 1 holidays are coming and as a present, I will post twice a week just because i simply love my readers! But please keep in mind that the quality of all of my photos will be, to put it simply, horrible (*cries*).
