To jump-start your new year, why not vamp up your jewellery organisers! I'm over the moon that I came up with this jewellery display and i must admit, every time i walk past it, i do gaze at for a while... Yes, call me crazy but how can you not resist?!
Here's what you need:

- Paint
- A paint brush
- A glue gun
- A pen
- A sturdy branch
- 2 'y' shaped branches
- A power drill
Start by painting your wood block surface with your choice of paint. Apply two coats for better results.
Once dried, mark where you want your branches to stand (I put mine 15 cm apart). With your power drill, find the approximate diameter of the 'y' shaped branches. Remember to only drill halfway.
Heat up that fab glue gun of yours and start glueing the branches in the drilled holes. I find the best way to do this is to place a strip of glue on the branch and quickly press it on the against of the hole.
Fix up any exposed glue with paint.
When the paint has finally dried, sit back, relax and enjoy the new year!

Cute idea! I love it :)

Thank-you! Glad you liked it :)
DeleteThis is such a good necklace jewelry display! This is a really well written tutorial and I like the ease of just lifting up the branch to hang the necklaces. I'm posting the top photo on my kids' crafts blog unicornhatparty.com on Tumblr.
ReplyDeleteWhat an eco-friendly jewelry display! With just a branch and a wooden box, you've created an amazing jewelry display! What else can I use to make a jewelry display, beside from the branch and the block of wood?

Hi, thank you for checking out my blog! Another material you could use for the base is a rectangle gift box with 2 hole punched holes. You can also place in some stones or pennis for some weight. Again, thank you for reading my blog and stay tuned for another DIY this week or two!! :)
