You Will need
- (For iPad mini) An a5 hardcover book
- A X-Acto knife
- A glue stick
- A pair scissors
- A ruler
- A pencil
- Some double sided tape
- 2 pieces of Velcro (or even better, iPad case)
Start off by choosing the book. I was in a massive rush and had to quickly purchase one from my local community store. I have to admit, I was pretty unprepared for this tutorial and had not long to make it. So, bring your iPad, see if it fits. Look for a hardcover book and avoid paperbacks as they are quite flimsy. As a result of rushing, I forgot to bring my iPad along and got a book that was a tad small. It is important to have at least a visible border around the book and the iPad.
Get your x-acto knife and cut open the bindings of the book. I find it easier to stand up your book and slice down. This gives you a clean finish.
Your book should be apart by now.
Trace and measure your inner lining of your book. I trimmed mine so you could see some of the teal. Paste it on with regular paper glue
Cut your Velcro and place some double sided tape. If you have an iPad case lying around, please use it instead of the Velcro. To attach the iPad case, heat your glue gun and quickly glue it on the right side of the book.
Also tape the Velcro pieces on your iPad. Side note, you may be wondering from my iPad, "Isn't your name Jenna?" Unfortunately no, Jenna is one of many nicknames and Jennifer was a bit of a long name so I shortened it for my blog.
Place your iPad with the Velcro and done! Enjoy your handmade book inspired iPad case. I hope you are all doing well these holidays and see you soon!
